A website designed for connecting friends who are not physically together.

What it is

Friend Connections is a website/PWA designed to keep people who are not physically connected together. Groups get daily prompts where they can either:

• Perform an action together (and take a photo)
• Reflect on their day
• Answer a wacky question

The problem

As my wife and I moved from Boston to Philadelphia, we were worried about staying connected to friends. I decided to do something about it and make this fun little website.

My role

• Sole developer
• Worked with Cursor to learn how to integrate AI tools into my workflow
• Connected with potential users to add specific users.

Tradeoffs & decisions

• Decided on using Firebase, but through a Next.js server, allowing flexibility and speed while keeping security of tokens/db
• Developed a website/PWA instead of native application due to flexibility of deployment and also platform agnostic availability.
